Dr. Liu Ying, Assistant Professor from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, will be presenting a talk on 'Multi-facet product information search and retrieval using semantically annotated product family ontology', on 30 Nov Mon, 10-11am @ EA-02-11. Pre-registration is not required.
- Soh Khim Ong, Ph.D. Receives Society of Women Engineers Emerging Leaders Award in Academia
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is pleased to announce Soh Khim Ong, Ph.D. as the recipient of the 2009 Emerging Leaders Award in Academia for demonstrated leadership in academia, groundbreaking research in manufacturing engineering, and for serving as a role model for other women engineers.
- XR2 Wins Third Prize In 2009 ASME Student Robot Design and Mechanism Competition
On September 2nd 2009, a group of five ME students namely Thien Vui Chia, Rupesh S. Baker, A.Ku.Ganaesh, U.S.Ajay Vignesh, and Souvik De won the third prize in the 2009 ASME Student Robot Design and Mechanism Competition held at the 2009 ASME International Design and Engineering Technical Conferences, San Diego, CA, USA.
- Prof Ng Kim Choon and team awarded IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2009
The IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2009 was awarded to the team of researchers, Prof KC Ng, Dr BB Saha, Dr A Chakraborty and Mr K Thu who has developed energy efficient adsorption desalination cum cooling cycle.
- ME Department PhD Student Receives ICORR Award
On July 26th 2009 Olivier Lambercy received a Best Presentation Award at the 11th IEEE International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics (ICORR) in Kyoto, Japan, for his paper entitled Rehabilitation of Grasping and Forearm Pronation/Supination with the Haptic Knob"
- Project XR2 enters finals for ASME Student Mechanism and Robot Design COmpetition
The design conceptualization and implementation of XR2 was done during ME3101 and ME3102 Mechanical Engineering Design modules in collaboration with ST Kinetics under the supervision of Associate Prof Dr.Chew Chee Meng and Mr.Chan Kok Hoe, Ken.
