- ME Dept Seminar: Hybrid and Electric Powertrain Testing – Enabling a green future of transportation
new!
The ongoing transition in automotive technology towards hybrid and electric vehicles requires a fast and efficient testing environment for research and series development. The presentation gives an overview about the new technologies to be tested and the challenges for testing methods and tools. Already realized advanced test configurations for e-motor, battery and powertrain are shown in detail and finally an outlook to future test technology is given.

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is pleased to announce Soh Khim Ong, Ph.D. as the recipient of the 2009 Emerging Leaders Award in Academia for demonstrated leadership in academia, groundbreaking research in manufacturing engineering, and for serving as a role model for other women engineers.
- XR2 Wins Third Prize In 2009 ASME Student Robot Design and Mechanism Competition
On September 2nd 2009, a group of five ME students namely Thien Vui Chia, Rupesh S. Baker, A.Ku.Ganaesh, U.S.Ajay Vignesh, and Souvik De won the third prize in the 2009 ASME Student Robot Design and Mechanism Competition held at the 2009 ASME International Design and Engineering Technical Conferences, San Diego, CA, USA.
- Prof Ng Kim Choon and team awarded IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2009
The IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2009 was awarded to the team of researchers, Prof KC Ng, Dr BB Saha, Dr A Chakraborty and Mr K Thu who has developed energy efficient adsorption desalination cum cooling cycle.
