The Control Group is responsible for the teaching of all undergraduate and graduate modules related to robotics, instrumentation and control engineering in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. They also participate in the teaching and tutorials for other modules in the engineering curriculum.
The faculty members are actively involved in the various intersections of three main research directions:
Examples of research projects in these areas include Bipedal robots, collaborative robots, brain-controlled wheelchair, control of mechanical systems like underwater vehicle, machining processes, virtual reality, haptics feedback, study of Artifical Neural Network, Support Vector Machine, control of constrained system, robust control and others.
The research and teaching activities are supported by two laboratories and one research center. The control group also works closely with other research institutes in Singapore and other international universities.
