Eligibility, Place Allocations and Process


To be eligible to participate in the NUS Student Exchange Programme (SEP), you must meet the following requirements.

  • be enrolled at the National University of Singapore (NUS) as a full-time student
  • complete at least two semesters of study before applying for the exchange programme (Polytechnic direct entry and GEP students are required to have completed at least one semester of study before we can consider you for the exchange programme)
  • minimum CAP of 3.0, with no letter grade that is below C preferably
  • have sufficient financial means to cover the necessary expenses for the duration of the SEP (documentary proof of your financial status may be requested)
  • satisfy host institution and host country entry requirements
  • not apply for SEP to your home country
  • not apply for SEP to China, Taiwan and Hong Kong if you are a Chinese national
  • not be in your final year or semester of study when embarking on SEP


Place Allocations and Process

  • Selection is based on 50% CAP and 50% interview rating
  • SEP Process
    • Stage 1
      • Application, Interviews, and accept/reject offers
      • Submission of module mapping via EduRec
      • Submission of partner university application form to Dean’s office & Registrar’s office for endorsement
    • Stage 2
      • Partner universities’ documents submission for evaluation and acceptance
    • Stage 3
      • Apply visa and book flight


* Please note that withdrawal of SEP after accepting the offer in Overseas Programmes Application Systems (OPAS) system will lead to a penalty of at least S$300 (up to S$500).
